The Canada-China Culture and Education Association (CCCEA) is jointly organizing the ‘Canada Cultural Tour 2018’ with School District No.69 (Qualicum) in Canada. Students will attend classes with local students and live with homestay families. They will learn Canadian history, local customs and culture, as well as fully immerse in the English speaking environment.

  • Provide the opportunity for Hong Kong students to study with Canadian students and experience the life in Canada

  • Enhance students’ confidence and the ability to communicate in an English speaking environment

  • Foster the education and cultural exchange between Hong Kong and Canada

Program Date: March 30 – April 10, 2020

Destinations: Parksville, Victoria, and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Targets: Students aged 10-12 (Primary 4 - 6)

Features

  • Ideal English Environment: Parksville is a Caucasian community located on Vancouver Island. The beautiful, safe and friendly community is a perfect place for students to learn English.

  • Total Immersion into local curriculum: Every three to four students will be placed in a classroom to attend classes with local students. Students can experience the classroom learning environment in Canada, and build friendship with local children. Each classroom is conducted by a certified teacher with a maximum of 20 students to promote interaction and active participation.

  • Homestay Experience: Students will be arranged to stay with homestay families to fully immerse in the Canadian way of life. Homestay families are screened and monitored by the School District to ensure a safe and comfortable living conditions for students.

  • Diversified activities: Besides attending classes with local students, there are a variety of activities and field trips such as ice-skating, mini-golfing, Victoria tour, etc. to broaden the students' experience during their stay in Canada.

  • Explore the Beautiful British Columbia: Students will visit 3 cities (Parksville, Vancouver, and Victoria, the capital city of BC) in the 12-day program. They can experience the amazing beauty of the mountains and coasts of British Columbia and the friendliness of the local people.
